Corey LaJoie Pilots No. 24 youtheory Toyota to 18th Place Finish in California

FONTANA, CALIFORNIA (March 26, 2017) – Corey LaJoie welcomed the season debut of the youtheory sponsorship this weekend at Auto Club Speedway and his second appearance of the season behind the wheel of the No. 24 Toyota for JGL Racing. The 25-year old racer would pilot the No. 24 youtheory Toyota to an 18th place finish in the running of the Service King 300 at the Fontana, California track.

“I really appreciate the support of youtheory and it is great to represent them that their home track,” said LaJoie.  “Our No. 24 youtheory Toyota was fairly decent all weekend and we were able to keep it clean and come home with a decent finish for youtheory and the JGL Racing team.  We dealt with a mysterious front end vibration for most of the race and that hampered our progress a little but in the end we fought together as a team.  I felt like I passed 100 cars out there today but I could have done a little better on that last restart which would have given us a little better finish.”

Corey would start the 150-lap event from the 26th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day.  When the green flag flew it was obvious the No. 24 youtheory Toyota was much better than that qualifying effort as LaJoie charged inside the top-20 by the end of the first segment.  While the development of a vibration affected the handling for Corey he would maintain his track position while various trips down pit road were used to diagnose the issue.

LaJoie would continue to deal with the mysterious front end vibration as well as a tight handling condition on his No. 24 youtheory Toyota as the race progressed into the later stages.  While a late caution would set up a short dash to the finish, Corey would battle for a top-15 finish before losing some spots in the closing laps to post the 18th place finish.

“Everyone at JGL Racing worked hard and gave me a solid No. 24 youtheory Toyota this weekend,” added Corey.  “We continue to learn more and more on this new package and hopefully this weekend provides us with more information as the season progresses.  I am not scheduled to be back in the No. 24 youtheory Toyota until later in the season and I cannot wait.”

The JGL Racing team will take a much-needed week off before next heading to Texas Motor Speedway for the running of the My Bariatric Solutions 300 with Jeb Burton making his season debut in the No. 24 Toyota.  The sixth race of the NASCAR XFINITY Series season will be Saturday April 8th and can be seen LIVE on FOX at 1:30 pm ET.

It can also be heard on Performance Racing Network (PRN) and SiriusXM Channel 90.
