Matt Tifft Grabs Top-20 Finish in Texas

FORT WORTH, TX (April 10, 2016) – Matt Tifft and the JGL Racing team came to Texas Motor Speedway looking forward to a great learning experience and a solid finish in their No. 24 Arch Day Toyota.  The goals were accomplished at the end of the 300- mile event as Tifft would come home with a solid 20th-place finish in the running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at the Fort Worth, Texas track.

“We really made some big gains on our No. 24 Arch Day Toyota all throughout the weekend,” said Tifft.  “Ultimately I felt that we gained a lot of knowledge both for myself as well as the JGL Racing team.   This race will be a big help to me as I progress throughout the 2016 season with my racing schedule as I sure did learn a lot out there tonight.”

Tifft would start the 200-lap event from the 27th position as a result of his qualifying efforts earlier in the day.  The 19-year old driver would utilize the first part of the race to get the feel of his No. 24 Arch Day Toyota in traffic.  A couple trips down pit road gave the crew some opportunities to make some necessary adjustments which proved helpful in the second half of the race.  With his No. 24 Toyota handling better and with laps under his belt, Tifft would climb his way inside the top-20 just before the halfway mark of the race.  While gaining further knowledge and experience, Matt would maintain his track position for the second half of the race to earn his second career top-20 finish in NASCAR XFINITY Series competition.

“I really appreciate the hard work by everyone on this JGL Racing team,” added Matt.  “We worked together well in practice and the race to get our car dialed in pretty good.  Now we get to head to Bristol this coming weekend and continue with that chemistry.  Bristol will be a very challenging race but I am looking forward to getting back to race there since it has been a few years since I last raced at the track.”

Next up for Tifft and his JGL Racing team is a trip to Thunder Valley and Bristol Motor Speedway.  The running of the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 will be Saturday April 16th at 12:30 pm ET and will air LIVE on Fox Sports1 and can be heard nationwide on Performance Racing Network (PRN) and SiriusXM Channel 90.
