Lagasse Jr. at Daytona International Speedway:

Scott will be making his 12th career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Daytona International Speedway.  He also has three starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and two in the ARCA Racing Series at the Daytona Beach, FL track.

Lagasse Jr. finished sixth in the JGL Racing No. 24 Toyota in the NASCAR XFINITY Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Scott’s Thoughts on Daytona International Speedway:

“I am excited to be back in Daytona with JGL Racing where we had a very strong race in February.  I know we will have another great race car this weekend and we look to improve five spots from our February finish and bring the No. 26 Florida Lottery / SCREEN YOUR MACHINEToyota home in Victory Lane.”

Lagasse Jr. will be spreading the word this weekend about The Florida Lottery and their Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The Florida Lottery has contributed more than $4.85 billion to send more than 725,000 students to college since 1997. Scott is a perfect example of a student that worked hard in school and benefited from the generous support of the program.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to share my experience with everyone about the Lottery’s Bright Futures Scholarship Program and I will always be grateful. I was able to get four years of great education and a College degree that otherwise may not have happened.” said Scott.

“I also want to spread the word about SCREEN YOUR MACHINE™ and American Cancer Society. We are working together to move people to be screened for cancer and to bring attention to The Road To Recovery.   Last, I want to remind everyone to please be Alert Today for Bicycles and Pedestrians when you are driving and especially this 4th of July weekend.  Please remember that “Safety Doesn’t Happen By Accident”.

About the Florida Lottery:

The Florida Lottery’s mission is to maximize revenues for the enhancement of public education in Florida. In fiscal year 2014-2015, the Florida Lottery transferred $1.5 billion to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund. The Bright Futures Scholarship Program, which is primarily funded by the Florida Lottery, was created in 1997 by the Florida Legislature to assist students in pursuing postsecondary educational and career goals. Since the program’s inception, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $4.85 billion to send more than 725,000 students to college.

About American Cancer Society:

The American Cancer Society is on a mission to save and celebrate lives while leading the fight for a world without cancer. Until this mission is accomplished, the American Cancer Society will be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients and spreading the word about prevention. All so we can live longer – and better. Every day, thousands of cancer patients need a ride to their treatments. The Road to Recovery – a program organized by ACS – provided nearly 335,000 rides to treatment and other related appointments in 2016. You can donate to the Road to Recovery program by visiting cancer.org/screen.

About Screen Your Machine™:

SCREEN YOUR MACHINE™ is Scott Lagasse Jr.’s personal and passionate quest to encourage people to be screened for all types of cancer. Scott is alive and healthy today as a colon cancer survivor because he got screened when he sensed something was “not quite right” while training for a triathlon event. Being an athlete, Scott is always sensitive to what his body is telling him. He was well under the recommended screening age, but cancer doesn’t care about your age. Scott is an outspoken proponent for cancer screening and official ambassador for Fight Colorectal Cancer (FightCRC.org). In addition to launching SCREEN YOUR MACHINE™, Scott recently spoke during a TEDx conference on his personal experience and currently is the focus of a National PSA for FCRC. Scotty is utilizing his motorsports platform which includes NASCAR, the Trans Am Sport Car Series and Dirt Car racing, to reach every motorsports fan (represents 33% of all adults in this country) with his plea to ScreenYourMachine.com!
